![]() ![]() Happens with Vulkan & OpenGL, but I think it's been a long term issue for me (I'm not a major user). This update brings about much better Vulkan support to Android phones with a PowerVR GPU, such as the Nokia 3. They also enabled a shader cache for Vulkan too, which should help smoothen a few games out. The PSP emulator, PPSSPP Official Site, recently had a pretty big release which now defaults to Vulkan as the main renderer. Oh and one more thing: I seem to get screen tearing even with Vsync turned on (I don't have Gsync). As usual, the PPSSPP folks are keeping up with their once every 5 months release schedule and have just released PPSSPP 1.8. PPSSPP emulator now uses Vulkan by default, OpenGL now multithreaded. Vulkan Developments Latest Vulkan API Extensions and Additions Vulkan is constantly evolving to bring new capabilities and improvements to the API. I'd really like it if I could get the performance I normally have, as the ship textures ripped from the PS3 game look so much better, and with an i7 and a gtx1060 6GB, I'd like to think I could run a PSP game without gamebreaking stutters. Vulkan is a cross-platform industry standard enabling developers to target a wide range of devices with the same graphics API. Interestingly, other settings seem to retain the changed values except this and the Display FPS option, which also reverts back to original value. This slowdown occurs even when playing/loading everything from an SSD. I had the same issue when trying to change OpenGL to Vulkan, restarting the PPSSPP will restore back to OpenGL. up-to-date Retroarch cores & standalone emulators (PPSSPP, Redream etc. also in Wipeout Pulse, I get huge amounts of slowdown seemingly whenever a texture is called up - which happens probably whenever a ship's level of detail changes - which happens a lot - I'm just wondering if there's any solution to this? Like maybe having an option to keep all the modified textures in GPU memory or something. custom compiled w/Vulkan up-to-date drivers Schmoomers modified Hurstys. No crash occurs with modded textures when using OpenGL. The game runs fine when not running modded textures. The emulator crashed with this message while trying to load the ship selection screen (which has modded textures for the 3D models of the ships). It seems to happen when attempting to load modded textures, at least in the one game I tried to use them with (Wipeout Pulse). ![]()
